Eden Radio

As a music and anime lover turned engineer, building and maintaining Eden of the West has been a fantastic journey for me, my friends and I first started the radio station almost ten years ago, we were just a group of netizens looking for a way to connect with others who shared our love of chill music and nerd culture.

We started with a simple WordPress website, but Eden grew in popularity, and we knew we needed to upgrade our technology to meet the demands of our listeners (And keep with the times).

Over the years, we've gone through several iterations of the front-end, starting with Laravel, then Azuracast (Which is still PHP but have a Vue frontend), and the goal is to complete the move to Nuxt 3 with a serverless and microservice-focused infrastructure.

One of the things I love most about working on Eden of the West is the freedom it gives me to experiment with different technologies and approaches, there are so many new things that come out every year that having this as something I use almost daily, there are always opportunities to make improvements.

Our listeners are also great, seeing the passion and creativity of our listeners and the artists we feature on the radio has been a constant source of motivation for me to keep building and to improve the station, I'm excited to see where the future takes us, and I can't wait to keep bringing our listeners the best in chill music and connecting them with the incredible artists that inspire us all.
